The West Virginia Mountaineers are set to tip off their 2012-2013 college basketball season. The Mountaineers had a good season last year, finishing 19-14 and making the NCAA Tournament as a #10 seed. To there surprise, they were crushed in the first round by #7 seeded Gonzaga. The Mountaineers will likely struggle this season as they lose their two best players in Kevin Jones and Darryl Bryant. Both of them were seniors and had hopes of getting drafted, but neither of them did. Jones averaged a double-double with 20.1 points and 11.1 rebounds a game and was sure he would be taken in the 2nd round of the 2012 NBA Draft, but his name was never called. However, he has been talking to the Cleveland Cavaliers and is optimistic that they will sign him. Bryant, on the other hand, is not so sure he will fulfill his dreams of making it to the NBA. Not many Mountaineers have made it to the NBA, currently, only Joe Alexander and Devin Ebanks are active on NBA rosters. The best player to ever come out of the Mountaineers program was guard Jerry West. West is the logo for the NBA and one of the best guards to ever play the game, his name is directly associated with the game of basketball. This season head coach Bob Huggins will need a rebuilding year. Even though the Mountaineers have made the NCAA Tournament for five years in a row, they lose so much talent to graduation. Nevertheless, Gold Coast Tickets does not want you to miss out on the action as Huggins is confident his team is good enough to make a statement in the Big 12. They played in the Big East last season, this will be their first season in Big 12 play.
