2013: 7-6 (4-4 ACC)
It was a year of first’s for the Syracuse Orange. The 2013 season was head coach Scott Shafer’s first year at the helm and it was also their first year playing in their new conference, the ACC. The Orange’s first year in the ACC ended on a high note as the Orange defeated Minnesota, 21-17, in the Texas Bowl. Sophomore quarterback Terrel Hunt emerged as both a threat in the air and on the ground. The speedster allows Shafer to run the fast paced offense he prefers. Ashton Broyld, also a sophomore, set the school record for a sophomore with 55 catches. With Hunt and Broyld returning to Syracuse for the 2014 season, the program will look to continue to take steps in the right direction. Head to Gold Coast Tickets to get your Syracuse tickets today!
The Orange are led by head coach Scott Shafer at the Carrier Dome, which holds just about 50,000 roaring fans. The Orange have had many NFL standouts, currently including: Indianapolis Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Williams, and New England Patriots cornerback Will Allen. The Orange has had one National Championship under their belts, which came in 1959, when they beat the college football powerhouse Texas Longhorns.
