Seton Hall Pirates Basketball

Again unable to make the leap, Seton Hall finished last season at .500 but just 6-12 in the Big East.  The backcourt is the definite strength on the team, starting with junior Sterling Gibbs (13.2 PPG).  But the question will be if the frontcourt is good enough to balance the roster.  They’re not a great offensive team because of the high amount of inconsistent players, like Patrick Auda.  Big time recruit Isaiah Whitehead should help change that.  Whitehead leads one of the best recruiting classes in the country.  But Pirates fans won’t be entirely pleased until they make it back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2006, ending a maddening streak of mediocrity.

The Seton Hall Pirates operate under coach Kevin Willard at the Prudential Center in South Orange, New Jersey.  They made the national title game in 1989 in a breakout year for the school but lost to Michigan.  It was their second of 10 all time NCAA Tournament appearances.  They last won a game in the Tournament in 2004, knocking off Arizona before losing to Duke.  25 Seton Hall players have made the NBA although only one in the last half-decade in Samuel Dalembert.  Other notable players include Bob Davies, Mark Bryant, and Eddie and Adrian Griffin.  Make sure to get your Seton Hall basketball tickets from Gold Coast Tickets!
