Rutgers Scarlet Knights Basketball

Not known for basketball prowess, Rutgers enjoyed higher than usual fanfare in 2013-14 in its first year in the AAC.  Unfortunately the results were no different as they wrapped up a 12-21 season.  And now another conference move means that fans will get to see top-notch opponents again.  But the team loses five important players, and last year they only managed to 5-13 against the AAC.  2014-15 will definitely be a rebuilding season in Piscataway.

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights have played 100 years of college basketball.  They operate under coach Eddie Jordan at the Louis Brown Athletic Center in Piscataway, NJ.  They’ve never won a title or been to the national title game as the program’s biggest achievement was reaching the Final Four in 1976.  But they’ve recently fallen upon hard times.  Rutgers hasn’t had a winning season since 2006 and haven’t made the Big Dance since 1991, when they played in the A-10.  Rutgers has sent 10 players to the NBA although just two since 1986.  They’re hoping Big Ten play will eventually spark a rebirth of the program.  Make sure to get your Rutgers basketball tickets from Gold Coast Tickets!
