Oregon Ducks Basketball

Oregon is back in the Big Dance, and loving it.  A Sweet 16 appearance in 2013 followed by a one-and-done should be much harder to repeat this year, though, as Oregon loses eight of the ten players they had on the floor most often last season.  The team that was assembled was the highest-scoring squad in the Pac-12.  And they lucked out when leading scorer Joseph Young (18.9 PPG) announced his return.  But forward Elgin Cook is likely the only other starter that will crack the starting lineup.  The rest is a highly-touted freshman at point guard and two JUCO transfers.  Young will have to step it up and take over the team in a time of transition for everybody else.

The Oregon Ducks operate under coach Dana Altman at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Oregon.  Oregon won the national title in 1939, has made the Sweet Sixteen four times, and appeared in the NCAA Tournament 12 times.  Much like the football program at Oregon, the basketball’s recent run of success has become especially popularized for its run ‘n’ gun style of offense, making the Ducks one of the more popular teams to watch in the country.  20 Oregon players have made it to the NBA, including Aaron Brooks, Luke Ridnour, Greg Ballard, and Terrell Brandon.  Get your Oregon Ducks basketball tickets from Gold Coast Tickets!
