Notre Dame Fighting Irish compete as an Independent at the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision level. They have been awarded 11 national championships and have produced more All-Americans than any other Football Bowl Subdivision school. Notre Dame has the second highest winning percentage in NCAA history. The Fighting Irish has also produced the largest number of players to go on to the NFL of any other program in the country.
The Fighting Irish are currently coached by Brian Kelly. Kelly has a large desire to make proud the coaches and players that have come before him. With the motto, “Tradition never graduates”, Notre Dame has one of the most loyal and dedicated fan bases in the country. Home games have become a tradition to the Fighting Irish, Notre Dame students, and their fans. Every home game airs on NBC.
Notre Dame will kick off their season at home on September 4th against Purdue. Following that is one of the most highly anticipated games in college football, the Notre Dame-Michigan game. It will be played at home on September 11.
