Nebraska Cornhuskers (Basketball)

Nebraska had a typical Nebraska-like year in basketball last season.  Not that they were all that bad, but they weren’t great either.  Nebraska has won between 12 and 20 games every year since 1992.  They went 15-18 last year no thanks to an anemic offense that ranked 335th, 297th, 332nd, and 296th in points per game, rebounds per game, assists per game, and field goal percentage.  They snatched three out-of-state recruits in Nick Fuller, Tai Webster, and Nathan Hawkins who will definitely be tasked with improving that offense.  Webster actually comes from New Zealand, an intriguing question mark.  Their new arena, a legit-sized arena, could actually jumpstart the program for the better in making the program more attractive to recruits and fans.  There’s no doubt moving to the Big Ten was a challenge for Nebraska especially with the recent success of Minnesota and Indiana to go along with perennial contenders Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Ohio State.  But hope is on the horizon and Nebraska could join the likes of them in a few years.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers operate under Coach Tim Miles at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln.  They have appeared in the NCAA Tournament six times, most recently in 1998, and won their conference tournament in 1994.  The basketball program has long been overshadowed by the football program but they have sent 11 players to the NBA including Mikki Moore, Tyronn Lue, Erick Strickland, and Eric Piatkowski.  Miles will be in his second season and hoping to push his team into the NCAA Tournament for the first time in more than a decade and a half.  Get your Nebraska basketball tickets today!
