The Nebraska Cornhuskers were picked to finish last in the Big Ten prior to the 2013-2014 season. It was supposed to be another rebuilding year for head coach Tim Miles, who left Colorado State in favor of a bigger program. Oh boy was everyone wrong. Nebraska shocked everyone around the Big Ten and college basketball in route to a 19-13 record and a fourth place finish in the incredibly competitive Big Ten. They even made the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1998. Terran Petteway led the way for the Cornhuskers on the floor averaging 18 points a game. Petteway along with, second leading scorer, Shavon Shields will be back in Lincoln for the 2014-2015 season. Expectations are as high as ever for Tim Miles to improve on undoubtedly what was his best coaching job to date.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers operate under Coach Tim Miles at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln. They have appeared in the NCAA Tournament seven times, most recently in 2014, and won their conference tournament in 1994. The basketball program has long been overshadowed by the football program but they have sent 11 players to the NBA including Mikki Moore, Tyronn Lue, Erick Strickland, and Eric Piatkowski. Miles will be in his third season and look to build off an outstanding 2013-2014 season. Get your Nebraska basketball tickets today!
