LSU Tigers

2013: 10-3 (5-3 SEC); won Outback Bowl over Iowa

In the ultra-competitive SEC, the LSU Tigers have been slightly overshadowed in recent years.  But they’re still one of the best teams in the conference, which is saying something.  Last year they lost tough games vs Georgia and Alabama but rebounded to beat Texas A&M at home.  They were ranked the entire regular season before a solid bowl game win against Iowa.  Change is abound in Baton Rouge though, as longtime quarterback Zach Mettenberger (3,082 yards, 22 touchdowns) is now a Tennessee Titan and running back Jeremy Hill (1,401 rush yards, 16 touchdowns) is now a Cincinnati Bengal.  LSU’s recruiting classes are normally top notch so they shouldn’t struggle too much in replacing that talent.  They also return much defensive talent, so look for them to remain competitive.  A big test comes even before the SEC schedule, a Week 1 opener at home against Wisconsin.  They face road games at Auburn, Florida, and Texas A&M and a home game against Alabama.  They’ll face a lot of challenges, but if they can even win one or two of the tough SEC games they’ll be well up in the national rankings.

The LSU Tigers are members of the SEC’s Western Division.  Tigers head coach Les Miles has a long tradition with the team as he led them to a BCS National Championship game victory in 2007.  With such success over the last few years it’s no wonder the massive Tiger Stadium, which holds just over 95,000 fans, is always filled to capacity.  They’ve won three national titles, made 45 bowl appearances (including 14 in a row), and have 14 conference titles.  The Tigers have sent many players to the NFL throughout the years; currently the most notable include: Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe, Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson, and Patriots running back Stevan Ridley. This season the Tigers hope to win the conference again as well as get back to the National Championship game.  Gold Coast Tickets does not want you to miss out on the action as the Tigers make their run at the title.  Get your 2014 LSU Tigers football tickets from Gold Coast Tickets today!
