Lionel Richie, formerly part of the Commodores, has been working on a solo career since 1982. He became a regular performer for other R&B groups in the 70s, but the Commodores specifically were known as a support act to The Jackson 5. That helped the Commodores become a popular soul group. The solo career took off immediately with three hit singles in “Truly”, “You Are”, and “My Love”. More top ten hits came later in “Hello”, “Stuck on You”, “Running with the Night”, and “Penny Lover”. He became one of the most popular singers of the 80s. Richie has kept busy with performances at here and there and recently went on an Australian Tour. This tour is his first North American tour in more than a decade, so make sure to come see Lionel Richie during this rare opportunity!
