Kansas State Wildcats Basketball

The Wildcats had a pretty up and down season last year, getting it done defensively much more than offensively to win games.  They lost way too many conference road games to be taken seriously for contention and had one-and-done exits in the Big 12 and NCAA Tournaments, however.  It was a disappointing end for a team that showed promise in toughness.  But they still didn’t get the attention they deserved, what with Kansas and Wichita State grabbing all the headlines in local press.  They finished with a 20-13 (10-8 Big 12) record.  But they bring with them great depth to follow a solid starting five.  Marcus Foster (15.5 PPG) came out of nowhere to lead the team in scoring.  They also feature the tough Thomas Gipson and a couple recent JUCO transfers that make this a strong Big 12 contender for 2014-15.

The Kansas State Wildcats operate under Coach Bruce Weber at Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, KS.  They’ve been very successful in basketball lately, holding a national rank in the last five and six of the last seven seasons.  Unfortunately that success hasn’t carried over to the NCAA Tournament, as since an Elite Eight loss in 2010, they haven’t been back to the Sweet Sixteen.  They’ve made 28 NCAA Tournament appearances all time, lost in the title game in 1951, and made their last of four Final Four appearances in 1964.  Cartier Martin and Michael Beasley are the only two active of their 21 all time NBA players, which include Mitch Richmond, Rolando Blackman, and Bob Boozer.  Get your K-State Wildcats tickets from Gold Coast Tickets!
