2013: 3-9 (2-7 Big 12)
The Cyclones struggled to compete in the 2013 season. In a competitive Big 12 they only won two games and failed to record the big upset their fans were looking for. They did, however, set multiple attendance records during their home games. In the offseason head coach Paul Rhoads hired Mark Mangino as the team’s offensive coordinator. Mangino, who previously coached the Kansas Jayhawks, will be inheriting an experienced offensive group. The receiving corps is the strength of the Cyclones with tight end E.J. Bibbs and receiver Quenton Bundrage both returning to Ames. The quarterback position is still up for grabs heading into the season with three names competing against each other. Iowa State’s best shot at a Big 12 win looks to be when they head to Kansas to take on the Jayhawks.
The Iowa State Cyclones are a college football team that plays in the Big 12 Conference. The Cyclones operate under head coach Paul Rhoads at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, Iowa, which holds exactly 55,000 fans. Although they have played football for a long time, Iowa State does not have much of a legacy, boasting just 12 bowl appearances (three wins), three Consensus All-Americans and two conference titles. Iowa State fights for the Cy-Hawk Trophy with Iowa every year although they trail in the series 39-21. They also trail in their rivalry with Missouri but lead against Kansas State. With Missouri in the SEC, the future of the rivalry is in question. This season the Cyclones hope to be atop the Big 12 and Gold Coast Tickets does not want you to miss out on the action.
