The 2013-2014 season for the Indiana Hoosiers was always going to be a difficult one. Few, however, expected the Hoosiers to miss the tournament after back to back Sweet 16 appearances. The Hoosiers were tasked with replacing four 1000 point scorers, including two lottery picks (Cody Zeller & Victor Oladipo). The youngest team in the Big Ten had an up and down season and were unable to put together enough quality wins to get them into the tournament. The 2014-2015 Hoosiers enter the season with more realistic expectations. Still one of the youngest teams in the conference, they are lead on the floor by Junior point guard Yogi Ferrell (18 PPG). Ferrell should have some help in the backcourt this season with the addition of McDonalds All-American James Blackmon Jr. With the addition of a two great shooters Max Hoetzel and Rob Johnson, and the improvements of players like Troy Williams and Stanford Robinson, look for the Hoosiers to have a bounce back season this year!
The Hoosiers operate under head coach Tom Crean at Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Indiana. The Indiana Hoosiers were a basketball powerhouse under Bob Knight from 1971-2000, winning three titles. However, Knight is gone and Crean is the new face of the Hoosiers. After a rocky start to Crean’s career, he really has the Hoosiers rolling now with two straight trips to the Sweet 16 in 2012 and 2013. Indiana has 37 all-time appearances in the NCAA tournament and five national championships, most recently 1987. Grab your best seats for all Hoosier action this season at Gold Coast.
