Indiana Hoosiers

Watch the Indiana Hoosiers as they rebuild and continue their improved play.  Get your tickets with Gold Coast Tickets today!  After going 1-11 in 2011 (0-8 in the Big Ten), the Hoosiers rebounded to go 4-8 with two conference wins last year.  Their record, however, didn’t tell the whole story.  While the Hoosiers beat Illinois and Iowa for the two conference wins, they came extremely close to beating Ball State (a 41-39 loss on September 15), Michigan State (a 31-27 on October 6), #8 Ohio State (a 52-49 loss on October 13), and Navy (a 31-30 loss on October 20).  Leading receiver Cody Latimer, who racked up six touchdowns and 805 receiving yards last season, returns for his junior season.  Quarterback Cameron Coffman, who threw for 15 touchdowns and 2734 yards in his first season as starter, also returns.  Running back Stephen Houston could break 1,000 rushing yards for the first time this year, and mobile quarterback Tre Roberson could give the offense all kinds of options.  He should see more playing time this season.  Notable recruits, like wide receiver Taj Williams, defensive tackle Darius Latham, defensive end David Kenny III, and safety Antonio Allen are expected to contribute.

The Hoosiers are based in Bloomington, Indiana.  They have played their home games at Memorial Stadium, also known as “The Rock,” since 1960.  The Indiana football program has claimed two Big Ten Championships and has appeared in nine bowl games, and is wildly popular in the state.  IU football’s popularity in Bloomington and the entirety of Indiana is unmatched by any team besides the Indianapolis Colts.  However, the school still has several rivalries, including an annual early-season game with Indiana State, but none are more intense than its rivalry with Purdue.  Every year the two schools face off to compete for the Old Oaken Bucket, one of the oldest trophies in college sports.  The Hoosiers have yet to win a national championship, but are confident that fans won’t have to wait much longer.
