2013 Record (51-111) Missed playoffs
The last two MLB drafts have seen the Astros with the first overall pick. This can only mean one thing. The Astros have played some incredibly poor baseball the last few years. Stockpiling talent in the minors, however, should see this string of first overall picks end. Carlos Correa and Mark Appel, the last two 1st overall picks, are working their way through the Astros minor league system and will look to make an impact on the big league team in the coming years.
The major league club, however, finished 2013 with the worst record in all of baseball. The 2013 season marked the Astros first year in the American League after MLB realignment. Leaving the comfort zone of the NL Central proved difficult for the Astros to adapt to. Although 2014 looks to be another down year for the club it is impossible to not get excited about the team’s future. With one of the best minor league systems in all of baseball don’t miss out on the chance to see these young guns when they make their major league debut. Minute Maid Park itself is a reason to come out to see a game. For the best seat at the best price head to Gold Coast Tickets today!
