The Bulldogs went a mere 15-17 and did not make any post season tournament. The Bulldogs were led by senior Gerald Robinson who graduated. However, they do return second leading scorer and leading rebounder Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Head coach Mark Fox will look to Pope as a leader this season alongside Rivals Top 150 Board recruit Kenny Gaines. The Bulldogs made the tournament in 2011, but that was not the best moment in recent history. In the 2008 season Georgia finished just 13-16. They were headed into the Southeastern Conference tournament, and most everyone had them written off for a sure loss in the first round of the tournament. However, under the guard play of Sundiata Gaines, the Bulldogs made a magical run in the tournament. They beat Ole miss in the first round on a buzzer beater with .4 seconds left on the clock in overtime to send them to the second round. In the second round they faced a very good Kentucky team. The Wildcats were no match for the Bulldogs as they were on a mission.

In the semi-finals the Bulldogs faced the #1 seeded Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were the #6 seed and prevailed to beat Mississippi State in a thriller. The Bulldogs then faced the Arkansas Razorbacks in the championship game. The Razorbacks were the favorite again, but Georgia Bulldogs had beaten the Razorbacks in the regular season. Just as in the regular season, the Bulldogs routed the Razorbacks and won the SEC Tournament to make it to the NCAA Tournament and shock the nation. The best player to ever play for the Georgia Bulldogs was NBA Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins, who led Georgia to there only Final Four in 1983. The Bulldogs play their home games at the beautiful Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia.
