Georgia was the best of the SEC East last year, a tough feat when you consider the rest of college football is virtually the minor leagues compared to the SEC. The Bulldogs won the Capital One Bowl but have their eyes set on bigger prizes this year, as quarterback Aaron Murray returns as one of the top QBs in the nation. It’ll be extremely difficult, given the SEC schedule and a non-conference road game at intimidating Clemson. Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall are absolutely explosive at running back, as the two combined for over 2,000 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns, helping the Bulldogs become a top-20 offense in college football. Leading receiver Tavarres King has graduated, but seeing as six receivers had 20 or more receptions in 2012, Murray spreads the ball enough to manage that loss. The defense loses linebacker Alec Ogletree (St. Louis Rams) and linebacker Jarvis Jones (Pittsburgh Steelers) among others, and only three starters overall return so there is some uncertainty on defense. But strong coaching with Mark Richt should help their depth, and they’re a near lock to make a bowl for a 17th year in a row. Oh, and they have 20 four-star recruits on the way.
