2014 Result: 48-34 (4th East seed), lost in Eastern Conference Quarterfinals to Washington
The Bulls were yet again without their star point guard but that didn't stop them from taking care of business every night. After a rough 12-18 start, the team became one of the NBA's best around the start of 2014. Center Joakim Noah fought his way into the MVP conversation with a sensation season as the team's leader on and off the court. Power forward Taj Gibson was a strong candidate for Sixth Man of the Year and put up big numbers in the playoffs. Free agent addition Mike Dunleavy, veterans Carlos Boozer and Kirk Hinrich, stud Jimmy Butler, and Rose replacement D.J. Augustin all were key factors in the Bulls' success last season. But perhaps the most valuable member of the team is Coach Tom Thibodeau, a tough strategy man who gets every ounce out of his players. In just a few years "Thibs" has quickly become one of the NBA's best, especially when you consider that he's been without his best player for two years now. In Chicago, making excuses or accepting defeat are not what we do. You can be sure the Bulls are going to play with tenacious defense and tons of energy this fall. A stacked free agent class could have a future Bull in it as well. The loyal Bulls fan base continues to sell out nearly every game at the United Center, just down the street from our Gold Coast Tickets office.
